As a beginning skater, we recommend booking a lesson first with any coach at BX Rink. All Golden Cobras Hockey Academy coaches are contracted at BX rink to offer lessons throughout the week and during the weekends. Contact BX Skating Academy to book a lesson with a hockey coach.

Golden Cobras offers group practices throughout the week. Group practices are separated by different age divisions and skill levels. Some practices are invitation-only (elite level or tournament preparation practices) while others are open to all. Contact Golden Cobras Hockey Academy directly to sign-up for practice.

Golden Cobras is an ice hockey academy based in Jakarta. We offer various training programs including group practices, off-ice training, participation in international tournaments, and ice hockey camps. We also provide advisory and consultations to connect players to overseas schools, leagues, and programs. We also work closely with BX Rink to offer private lessons.

There is no age minimum! As long as we can guarantee a safe learning environment, kids of any age are welcome to join. Some skaters start as early as 4 or 5 years old.

Hockey is a multidisciplinary sport that demands agility, balance, coordination, and speed. Playing hockey conditions our physical health. At Golden Cobras, beyond athletic development, we also strive to build character. Golden Cobras actively participates in overseas tournaments. Some international tournaments are suitable for developing players, while others are highly competitive and more suitable for elite players. Contact Golden Cobras directly and the Academy Director and the Coaches will discuss a form of evaluation, if necessary, as part of the selection process to join.

Practice is indeed most effective with a goal and purpose in sight. There are many pathways and stages of development. Golden Cobras strives to develop the next generation of players so that they can compete by international standards. Players may join international tournaments with the Cobras team. Some of the highest level and ambitious players advance to represent the national team of Indonesia at the World Championships, Olympic Games, and Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.

The Indonesian Ice Hockey Federation (Federasi Hoki Es Indonesia) also organizes various hockey leagues - IIHL, GXIHL, GYIHL - in Indonesia as platforms for players to compete.

No. Golden Cobras has programs open to both members and non-members. We actually don't recommend jumping straight into membership because we want to make sure players are the right fit and can truly make the most of the benefits. Those who choose to apply for membership would typically have a higher commitment level, train regularly, and be evaluated by certain performance standards. For beginners, it can be a bit overwhelming to start there. For starts, we recommend getting on the ice first and considering membership later!

Nope. To make things simpler, lessons at the rink go by a pay-per-lesson system, with no long-term commitment needed. Just pay before or after each session and book lessons per your convenience.

If you already have the skating fundamentals and playing experience, you can jump straight into our group hockey programs without the need to first book a lesson with a coach. We have group practices throughout the week. If you're unsure of your level, we'd suggest a quick private lesson with a coach first just to get a proper assessment.

For newcomers who would like to try ice skating, we recommend scheduling a 30-minute “walk-in” lesson at BX Skating Academy. Lessons are usually 60 minutes per session, but there is also a 30-minute option at half the price. It's a great low-commitment way to get a feel for the ice before committing to a full hour. BX Skating Academy is the in-house academy at BX rink that offers lessons for figure skating, speed skating, and ice hockey. BX Skating Academy offers lessons everyday throughout the week.

Golden Cobras is an independent, premium hockey academy offering advanced hockey programs, camps, and the opportunity to compete internationally representing the Golden Cobras team.

Not immediately! For trial classes, Golden Cobras coaches can help organize loaner equipment to borrow. Once a player commits long-term, COBRA SPORTS can source premium gear internationally with a 2-3 week delivery window.

Hockey sticks are only permitted in the designated coned hockey area. They are strictly prohibited in the public skating space for safety reasons. Beginners learning to skate will have their lesson in the larger public skating space. Once they are ready to try ice hockey, their lessons will be in the coned hockey area.

Yes! Golden Cobras actively participates in international tournaments in the region: across Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, China, Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore. Players can consult the Coaching Staff for tournament placement.

COBRA/CAMP is our signature annual international summer hockey camp hosted in Jakarta, Indonesia that typically runs during the last week of June through the first week of July. COBRA/CAMP draws 80-100 youth players from across the world and has made Indonesia a new location for hockey players to train hockey during the summer in Asia.
